Digital X-Rays

One of the first steps in designing a treatment plan is to determine your child's individualized needs. Digital dental radiography (X-rays) is an important tool for establishing the presence of tooth decay, so our office takes X-rays of your child's teeth to determine what treatment is necessary to restore his or her smile.

A wireless sensor is placed in the child’s mouth, and a computer generates an image in 30 seconds as opposed to the general 4-6 minute wait time for images taken on dental film. These X-rays can then be enhanced on the computer and enlarged.

Not only are digital X-rays friendly to the environment, they are much safer than traditional X-rays. Digital radiographs reduce the patient’s radiation exposure by 90 percent! Our office uses digital radiography to ensure the lowest possible amount of radiation is used and to reduce any unnecessary exposure to your child.
